Traineeship Recruitment – BoFEB
2:00 PM - 4:00 P
M
Langeveld 0.10

Jan Donders - Directeur Economentraineeship BoFEB

CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis regularly makes an estimate of the
sustainability of public finances. Before the general elections of 2017, according to CPB public
finances were sustainable. Assuming unchanged economic policies, CPB even projected a small
sustainability surplus (0,2% of GDP) in 2021. Economic policies of the third and fourth cabinet led
by prime minister Mark Rutte, however, result in a strong deterioration of the sustainability of
public finances. We discuss the background of this deterioration.

BOFEB will also inform the audience on a traineeship for young economists who want to join the central government. This traineeship exists since 1987, and is a collaborative project of Dutch ministries and Erasmus University. If you are interested to follow this traineeship, this presentation may be informative.
