On January 20th, AEclipse organized a case study workshop together with Frontier Economics! After an interactive workshop and a presentation, the students and company representatives enjoyed a beer tasting from Vet & Lazy and got the opportunity to get to know each other better.
Frontier Economics is a consultancy agency that helps companies, charities, the government, regulators and other public bodies to analyze markets and base their strategies on sound economics. The company was created with the idea of doing things differently and is entirely owned by its staff. With offices in many cities such as London, Dublin, Brussels, Paris and Berlin, the micro-economic consultancy has become one of the biggest European players in the field.
The afternoon started with a presentation of Frontier from the company representatives and an opportunity to ask questions. Two analysts from Frontier then presented an economic business case which was solved with the help of the students. The case was meant to give students an idea of the type of work Frontier conducts and an example of what kind of case study applicants may encounter during the application process. The participating students solved the case in small groups and then went on to presenting their solutions.
After the case study, there was a beer tasting organized by Vet & Lazy, a specialty beer brewery located in the city center of Rotterdam. A representative from Vet & Lazy told the students and the company representatives about the brewery and the four different beers included in the tasting. The beers had been shipped to participants beforehand, so everyone enjoyed a fun virtual tasting!
Finally, the students had the chance to ask questions about working at Frontier during a virtual Q&A. All in all, this workshop and the beer tasting were a great and fun opportunity to get to know Frontier Economics!
